a fiesta it was

what an absolutely wonderful saturday! good friends, good food, great weather. i didn’t take so many pictures because the screened porch furniture is just so comfortable once you sit down you really don’t want to get up.

here is the husband working on the chicken for round 1.

we had a break between guests and the apparently all the boys needed a little siesta. here is how i found sam when i came downstairs.

he looked so comfortable i decided to join him. a saturday afternoon spent like this is pure bliss.

here is my black bean and mango salsa.

and here is the recipe:
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (7 ounce) can whole kernel corn with peppers, drained
1 medium mango, peeled, seeded and cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro (i used more because we LOVE fresh cilantro)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

now back to garden planting.

Thanks for including me in your new private blog...what an honor! :)Your party looked like a blast, your food made my mouth water. Caleb and I would just love love love to have y'all down sometime. Now that school is out for you, y'all discuss Dylan's schedule and let me know what you might be able to scheme up! The only problem is our house might not be very "Sam and Milo friendly". Miss you dreadfully Kelsi. I think about you like every single day. We got your adorable cards in the mail, thank you! OK, now that this has turned into a personal message I will get going, good thing your blog is private now so at least the whole world won't have to read this :)Love you!
