furniture is in, furniture is in

this is a big day (well yesterday) for my craft room. all the furniture has been moved into its places. i am still giving it a day of paint drying per the husbands request before i start moving stuff in. but i am thrilled! beyond thrilled really.

the pictures aren’t great. but i will take better ones once i have moved all my stuff in for a true before and after.

so this is where i started. when i first realized i was going to have a craft/art room in our new house i started dreaming up of what i wanted. i found this on heather bailey’s blog, her studio.

i hit craigslist looking to replicate. i wanted my fabric cabinet to be a bit smaller than the above picture because i wanted to be able to reach everything without getting a step stool. i knew i wanted to use my hoosier cabinet. although i loved the pink paint and came oh so close to painting the room pink, i wanted something gender neutral. this is going to be the room that our kids do homework, projects, etc. since i don’t have a crystal ball, i didn’t think boys would like a pink room. so this is what i have. the furniture is feminine and the colors are bold and strong. i am super happy.

outlet covers are next on the to do list. i would like some shelves with rods to go next to the large fabric piece. so what do you think?

So pretty! I can't wait until you add the art stuff in there too. I would add the shelves and rods like you talked about in your post.
