on my to do list

remember during my weekly menu i mentioned i would be making either jam or apple butter? i really wanted to make apple butter because everyone seemed to really love it! i was going to settle for making banana-strawberry jam because i had all the ingredients and it was super yummy. but my heart was really with the apple butter. sounds silly, but for anyone that has canned before, it really is a love/hate process. well, for me it is.

last night the husband joined me for my running club run around carrboro. all the ladies loved having him there. and we did something we have never done before … run together. it was wonderful. absolutely wonderful. then he took me to chipotle. it is my birthday week after all. on the way home we stopped by the grocery store for milk (remember i didnt want to buy anything else this week). do your stores have the rack of fruits and veggies that have been reduced? i hardly ever find anything that is appealing. last night i was in luck! the guy just rolled it out and there was an entire shelf of apples for practically nothing! i declared it a sign that the universe wanted me to make apple butter. so that is what i am super excited about doing today.

i am also finishing up this cape for a sweet little cousin that is turning 3. i saw several cape tutorials online but didn’t really like them so i made my own. it is going to be 2-sided. this is one side and the other will have his name. i can’t wait to share the finished gift.

some days we should all have a super cape to put on.

My bro used to have a red cape with a big letter A on the back. He wore it all the time along with his red rainboots!

Chipotle? That is a good husband. I love the cape and agree, we all should have one.
