my first sewing class, as an instructor.

i was asked to teach a sewing class.  i said yes.  all day i was so nervous.  but also really excited.  it turned out to be a great success!  i realized there is quite the difference in sewing machines from different decades, a different machine from three different ones were represented.  but we worked through it and made it work.
the set up before the ladies arrived.  i had prior to their arrival asked their initial and color scheme.  i picked out fabrics that i thought they would like and appliqued their initial.

and, of course, there was food.  mostly inspired by pinterest.  below is a rosemary, lemon, vanilla house refresher.  i just left it simmering in the crock pot and the house smelled great!  the only downside was the husband was greatly disappointed there wasn’t a fresh loaf of my homemade rosemary bread in the oven.

a fruit dish with my favorite dip.  1/2 cup nutella + 1 cup of plain greek yogurt = deliciousness.  plus the dip was in one of my pottery bowls.

in life you need balance.  this was my balance.  chocolate oreo cake and lots of veggies and salad.  most seven layer salads have the dressing inside but i wanted to leave it on the side.  a great tip to limit the calories.

after our bellies were full we started the class.

in the end, we had many laughs and each lady walked away with their own handmade initial pillow.  it was such a fun evening and i am excited to say that there is already interest in another intro class.
