striving for progress.

this week i have been in an emotional funk. a physical funk. anyway you slice it, a complete funk.  monday i had myself a 24 hour pity party.  tuesday i felt bad and guilty about said pity party. tuesday i officially let go of the dwindling hope that we had conceived the month before. wednesday i was crampy times 100, bloated, and well a complete joy to be around.  {insert complete sarcasm along with an apology to anyone that has had to have any interactions with me this week} thursday is not the start of the week but it is the start of my new attitude.

no more funk. the sun is shining.  i rocked my new sneakers and some new workout jams.

and i went for a run.  the first time since my back injury and i just went for it. i am completely out of shape. i felt like i was going to die. it was the best feeling in the world.

today i am going to be strong. i am going to recognize that moving forward from failure shows strength. i have nothing to be ashamed of. i have no reason to hide from the world. life is hard. it could definitely be harder that what i am struggling with. but it is hard. clearing my head with exercise is my therapy.

i am striving for progress. not perfection. progress is attainable.

exhibit a. progress.

Re: the shoes. 1) I have Nike Frees and they are absolutely my favorite running shoes ever. After years of ill fitting shoes for my super long narrow feet, my feet feel so happy in them. Mine are a cool color but not as cool as yours. 2) I have been reminded by some things lately that buying stuff can be ok. Stuff is not the answer to big struggles, but sometimes a new thing helps us cope and move along when we need a bright spot and a new mindset. And as a somewhat anti-stuff person (though my Amazon purchase history might not support it), it's been a good lesson for me.

@eamcvey They are definitely bright! I was at the post office and an older gentleman said, "Ohh, where are my sunglasses!" Ridiculous. I definitely agree about "stuff" not being the answer but sometimes something small can give a little boost. I hope you and your guys are doing great!
